Enquiries via email or via the contact form on the website

We collect your data for the purpose of handling your enquiry. The data processing is based on Article 6 (1) (a) or (f) General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legitimate interest is in responding to your enquiry. The data will not be transmitted to any third parties. The data will be stored by us for as long as necessary for the purposes of processing it and to comply with data retention obligations under applicable commercial and tax laws. You have the right to object at any time to the use of your data for contacting purposes.

 

Newsletter, ordering publications

We collect your data for the purposes of fulfilling your order and sending the information material that you requested. The data processing is based on your consent as per Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR. Your data will only be transmitted to third parties for the purpose of sending materials by post. The data will only be stored by us as long as necessary to fulfil and invoice an order and to comply with retention obligations under applicable commercial and tax laws. You have the right to object at any time to the use of your data for the purpose of sending you informational materials.

 

Registering at the Members’ Area

We collect your data for the purpose of processing your registration at the Members’ Area on www.kaffeeverband.de. The data processing is based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our interest is in ensuring that only members can access the information reserved for members. The data will not be transmitted to any third parties. The data will only be stored as long as necessary to manage your membership and to comply with retention obligations under applicable commercial and tax laws. You have the right to object at any time to the use of your data for membership purposes.

Use of the German Coffee Association Facebook or Instagram accounts

Jointly responsible for the operation of our Facebook page (hereinafter also “Fanpage”) or Instagram site within the meaning of the GDPR:

Purpose of and legal basis for the processing by the German Coffee Association

We collect your data on the Facebook and Instagram account for the purposes of communication and interaction with you and in order to keep you informed about the latest news from the world of coffee. The data processing is based on Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is in carrying out the aforementioned purpose.

We will store the data as long as necessary for the purpose of its processing. We do not know whether and for how long Facebook creates backups of these messages. This can only be answered by Facebook itself.

According to the Facebook and Instagram terms of use, which every user has agreed to when creating an Facebook or Instagram profile, we are able to identify the subscribers and fans of our Facebook and Instagram accounts and view their profiles, as well as other shared information.

In the event that you no longer wish us to perform the data processing described, we request you to cancel the connection of your user profile to our Facebook account by using the “unlike” and/or “unfollow” functions, or by cancelling the connection to our Instagram account by using the “unfollow” function.

Registering to attend an association event

We collect your data for the purposes of completing your registration to attend a German Coffee Association event. The data processing is based on Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR. The data will not be transmitted to any third parties. The data will only be stored as long as necessary to carry out and invoice the event and to comply with retention obligations under applicable commercial and tax laws. You have the right to object at any time to the use of your data for the purpose of registering for an association event.

Using Facebook Custom Audience

The website uses the function “Custom Audiences” of Facebook Inc. (“Facebook”). This allows users of the Site to display interest-based advertisements (“Facebook Ads”) when visiting the Facebook social network or other sites that[1]also use the process. We are thus pursuing the interest of a needs-oriented design of our online offering in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit f) DSGVO.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Facebook server. We have no influence on the extent and further uses of the data collected by Facebook through the use of this tool and therefore inform you according to our state of knowledge: through the integration of Facebook Custom Audiences, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed our website or clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Facebook service, Facebook can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Facebook or have not logged in, it is possible for the provider to find out and store your IP address and other identification features.

We do not transmit (hashed) email addresses to Facebook and do not perform any automatic advanced matching of any kind that would transmit additional user information.

A Flash application (Flash plugin) from Issuu Inc., 131 Lytton Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301, USA (hereinafter: Issuu) is integrated into our website via JavaScript, which enables you to view publications from the German Coffee Association as e-papers.

Issuu uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of the website. In this way, Issuu collects and stores personal data such as the IP address and information about the time and duration of use.
