Service

Service

Any association is only as good as its members. The German Coffee Association benefits from the excellent support of their members especially by the co-operation in various committees such as

·     the Executive Board,

·     the Importation Committee,

·     the Public Relations Committee,

·     Technical working groups (for special tasks like market research, out-of-home-consumption, environmental issues, taxes, scientific matters, claims, tracking & tracing ...)

All members take profit by the knowledge achieved and it is also distributed to all parties interested in coffee matters. On the European level, the German Coffee Association is member of the Association Scientifique Internationale de Café ASIC, the European Coffee Federation ECF and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe SCAE. Through their active contacts with other associations in Europe and overseas the association has access to any type of information and service desired. Long business relations with their overseas partners in exporting countries are constantly supported by a frame-work of contractual conditions such as the European Coffee Contract as well as European Contract for Spot Coffee to name only the most important. If differences of opinion arise between these partners the Arbitration Board of the German Coffee Association at the Hamburg chamber of Commerces offers to settle this in a friendly way. The same applies for quality arbitration (Hamburger Privat-Arbitrage). A panel of coffee tasters is available for expertise on coffee quality of any kind.

For all who are interested in coffee, have questions and problems, want to expand their business relations or introduce new products the association is a good platform to start with.
